A Tough Non-Win

Sorry for the delay in posting this week. It’s been a very hectic week. That being said, let me get right into it. Down our 2 star players and feeding off the enthusiasm of a 3 game winning streak, some of our players stepped up as we almost pulled off an incredible win. Unfortunately it wasn’t in the cards for us. We faltered in the end because of a lack of mental toughness. We fed into the emotion of the other team and did not play Viper basketball. There are only 2 things you can due in the face if adversity; give up or stand up and fight back. We will fight back and come back even stronger. There is no other option. FINAO ( Failure Is Not An Option ). I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season. With the New Year right around the corner, it’s goal setting time. Do you have any major goals? Do you know how to reach them? If I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Our next game is January 7th. So you have over 2 weeks to build up your passion and fanfare for the Vipers and to then come out in full force and support Staten Island’s ONLY PRO BASKETBALL FRANCHISE!!!

Happy Holidays!!!

The Vipers are Snipers

With the shooting precision of a sniper, the Vipers unsuspectingly took out the Northeast division leader, the Jersey Express 2 times in 3 days. We posted a 12 point victory on Saturday in Jersey and a 29 point victory in front of our home crowd, AKA our 6th man. Everyone played well. The chemistry is developing rapidly and our teamwork is becoming more cohesive by the second. From the starters to the bench, everyone played with heart, determination and fire. The defense was great. Our shooting was on target and our passion was intense. Once again our fans and supporters came out to see Staten Island’s new buzz. If you haven’t been to a game yet, you are missing the Ferry! BUT, It’s not too late. Viper fever is spreading rapidly. This is one fever you want to catch. My suggestion; make The Vipers a part of your weekly entertainment. I don’t want to have to tell you ” I told you so “, but I WILL! Make sure you are at our next Home game this Sunday. Check the website for time and location (www.sivipers.com). Until next time, spread the Viper Fever……..

Staten Island’s New Buzz Word: “VIPERS”

In case you haven’t heard, the Staten Island Vipers are here. Staten Island’s only professional basketball franchise is making some noise amongst the ranks of the ABA (American Basketball Association). In our home opener at the Gerard Carter Center in Stapleton, we had an official attendance number of 320. Talk about Staten Island support! Fans from every part of the Island came together and with their electric enthusiasm helped will The Vipers to a much-needed victory. Our players, displaying the heart of a lion and the will of a champion, showed a poise and calmness under pressure that is very unique in the basketball world. The RESULT: a 108-105 final score in favor of the VIPERS over the #5 ranked Connecticut Top Ballerz. From 1 – 12, every player contributed in their own way to make this a true team effort. Our local players played a huge role and thanks to our fans and supporters,  we had a larger than life home court advantage. I have a suggestion for you: JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON. In 5 years from now you will say one of two things; I’m glad I supported the Vipers from day 1 or I wish I would have supported the Vipers. So come out and support us in any way you can and you will be able to say you are Part of “Vipers Nation”
